Animals and Friends
What a fun weekend we have had. On Friday we went to the Franklin Park Zoo for the free Friday. It was a little crazy...apparently we we part of their record breaking 23,000 people attended day! We got to see zebras, giraffes, a tiger, and gorillas (C's favorite). Ma Ma and Da Da were thrilled that we missed having our car towed by mere minutes. The next day I took the kids to the WGBH ice cream event. I was hopeful that some of C's favorite friends were there, and we weren't disappointed. C got to see Clifford the big red dog, Arthur, and Curious George. I feel like I got a sense of what he will be like down the road (a good ways down the road) when we take him to Disney for the first time. There are some kids that are shy, or cry when its their turn because they realize they don't want to take a picture. Not C...He dives right into a bear hug. He hugs, pets them, has a little conversation. The only thing that is hard is getting him to actually look at the camera. He loved petting Clifford's tail. He told Arthur, "I like your glasses!" and "Goodbye". When I asked him about George on the way home he said, "George said, "I like your George doll, C!" Luckily we got to say hi to these guys before we all got too warm and E was a trooper!re
Six Months Old!
Can't believe that baby E is already 6 months old! She is 16 lbs and 11 oz and 27 inches long! She doesn't like the baby cereal but she loves sitting in her high chair at the dinner table and being able to see us (particularly C) and to talk throughout dinner! She is such a funny little girl...she is almost always happy, very cuddly, definitely a Ma Ma's girl. But she is also a big faker...she will scream bloody murder and this cut it off like a flip of the switch once I pick her up. She also has been hlding out on us. She rolled over once while back and that was it. Never again. The other night I spent 40 minutes on the floor with her, begging her to roll over. That night she was being a party girl and wouldn't go to sleep. I left her with Da Da for a minute and he says, "she just rolled over." Ever since then she has been going back to tummy non-stop as if to say "no biggie, I can do this. why were you stressing out about this?"
Party and a Ball Game
While Da Da was away on a trip, we needed to find some ways to entertain ourselves. One morning C found some leftover party hats and insisted on having a party with Ernie and George. We served our leftover star cookies and C was nice enough to invite his baby sister. As usual, she was all smiles and super excited to be near her brother.
C had a "like mother like son" moment. My siblings will tell the story of when we were little and I talked them our of their candy by saying that I was a judge in a contest and needed to "taste" their candy. Well, C asked to have a cookie for him and for George. I left the room for a minute and there he was, nibbling on George's cookie, with his long gone!
We also went to a playground and saw some kids playing a game of baseball. He was enthralled. With the say the Sox are playing, this was a better ticket--that didn't require an actual ticket!

Happy 4th of July!
It doesn't quite feel like the 4th of July with the beach, a bbq, or having it on a Wednesday rather than a long weekend, but we still had a great day. C and I made star cookies, which we shared with friends at daycare today. We went to our town's parade which had proably a dozen firetrucks with lights and sirens and horns blazing (great for a little boy, not great for a baby girl...thus the photo of E upset).
C was glad to use his flag again (from the Memorial Day parade). At first when I tld him we were going to a parade he said, "no, there is no more parade!" So I had to explain that the Memorial Day parade was over, but there was ANOTHER one!

The Best Place to Sleep...
is is
...is on Ba Ba! We had a great visit with Ba Ba. C got to show off his pool and his T-ball skills, and read lots of books with Ba Ba. And E got to cuddle and sleep!

Happy Father's Day!
We had a great 3rd Father's Day! Matt and C went to Home Depot and got matching head flashlights and played "flashlight man" in the basement. This is one of the many creative games that Da Da comes up with! E wore her "daddy's princess" shirt and turned her smile on for the camera! We spent the weekend out in the yard, enjoying the kiddie pool and doing yard work. It is hard to get a photo of C these days, he is always running around to quick to snap a picture.
My favorite part of the day was at the end of dinner. Matt had E on his lap and C said, "Da Da, can you hold two children?" To which Matt said, "Of course I can buddy." This has become a frequent request now!
