Week 9: Basketball

C has been having so much fun playing basketball at the playground that we got him a little hoop for our yard. We played in our yard for the first time this weekend and had so much fun.

Week 8: Playdates, Playground, Pancake Breakfast

We have been keeping ourselves busy with playdates and playground visits. We went to the town's pancake breakfast and got to visit the animals at the farm. Through all of our adventures E is usually her usual happy self. But I get such a kick out of these two somewhat grouchy photos. When she is sad, C will say, "Don't be sad, E". Right now she loves cooing, kicking, and stretching out.

Week 7: Snow, Birthday, and Gentle Moments

C finally got to wear his snow pants this week. Ba Ba came up to babysit so Ma Ma and Da Da could go out to lunch for Ma Ma's birthday. While C is often running around the house, I really enjoy the quiet moments where he will read or play by himself in the playroom, or sit with E to listen to a story or show her his toys.

Week 6: Syrup and Smiles

We have been going to storytime at a local library most weeks. This week a farmer showed the kids how to tap maple trees for syrup. It was especially exciting given that C had watched a George episode about making syrup, so he knew what to expect from the buckets hanging from the trees.

I brought E to work and when we got home from the visit, she gave this great smile that I was able to get a photo of.

Week 5: Valentine's and Sweets

For Valentine's we brought out the red tutu for E and the red motorcycle and cupcakes for C! C also got to bake with Ma Ma. He loves to wear his chef hat and apron that Santa brought him. He likes that his apron hangs on the hook with Ma Ma's and Da Da's aprons. He also likes eating sugar and making a mess with flour on the floor.

Week 4: Aunt Kate

Aunt Kate and Nic came to visit this week! Enough said! And E got to celebrate her first BC beanpot win!

Week 3: Playground, Ducklings, and Toys

This week we ventured out to the playground (now our everyday place). C loves to have his snack in the clubhouse. One day he saw a pre-teen girl climb on top of the clubhouse to impress her friends, to which C said to her," this is MY house. Why are you doing that, girl?" I did explain to C that it was not his house, but I think it is funny that he called her out on her showing off!

C has discovered the book "Make Way for Ducklings". He LOVES it. He reads it with "Mr. Mallard", a duck figurine that was his great grandfather's. I get such a kick out of this love for this book, since we spent my first mother's day on Boston Common for the Make Way for Duckings parade.

It is fun to see E play with C's toys...the swing, the farm mat. She likes the swing, but isn't as attached as C was.

Week 2: Ba Ba Visit and Curious George

This week we got a visit from Ba Ba and Great Great Aunt Rita. C got a special treat...a Curious George doll! It was quickly become his absolute favorite. His obsession with George seems to have happened almost overnight. Uncle Brendan have C a George video for Christmas. C watched it over and over again the last 10 days while he was sick. George is now part of the family. When we read the books, C recites (in caps):

"This is GEORGE"
"He is a good little monkey and ALWAYS BERRY CUR-I-OUS!"
"he and his friend THE MAN WITH THE YELLOW HAT!"

Just like C, E loves to sleep on Ba Ba!

Week 1: Mimi Visit and Sick House

The highlight of E's first week home was a visit from Mimi and Paw Paw Kenny. Thanks to Mimi's visit before she was born, we settled into our new house quicker than we could have imagined. The downside was that we continued to be a sick house, with antibiotics still for the little man and more flu. Luckily C was able to get out for a pit and enjoy some of the only snowfall of the season.

E's Birth Day

On January 10th, we welcomed E to our family. C likes to name us all, "Da Da, Ma Ma, C, and E...the WHOLE family. So this is a new blog dedicated to our family...big brother C and baby E. (I have 10 weeks of catch up to do, so these entries will be photo heavy and little writing, but once we are up to date we will share more stories).

On the day E was born, C had his first sleepover at a friends house, and then the next night Ba Ba came to sleepover at our "new house". E gave C a toy airplane as a big brother present. Our first couple of days were rough, with Da Da having the stomach flu and C with an ear infection and a little pneumonia. Luckily, E stayed healthy and slept through the whole thing!
