Ba Ba visit

We had a nice visit with Ba Ba this weekend.  He wanted to experience what our Friday is like (what we call the Ma Ma, C, and E day.  He watched C play "soccer" and sing "rain rain go away" with his little friend once it started drizzling. We all went to the grocery store, and we took C to the bakery and the playground.  E and Ba Ba watched me and C play football (which is pretty much throwing the ball and running sprints). We took a walk around the neighborhood to see the Halloween decorations.  And the most exciting part of visit...E crawling!  (I will try to take a video of this soon).  I get the sense that E knew how to crawl for a much longer time, and she has just been holding out on us.  In two days, she went from inching her first crawl, to covering a third of the living room!

Sleepover vs. separation anxiety

A couple of weeks ago, I went to a good friend's wedding.  While I was gone, Mimi came to visit.  C couldn't have been more excited for the visit.  Mimi got to "sleepover!"  He knows her so well...the first thing that he asked her was "did you bring me pajamas?"  She brought him footie doggie pjs. He loves them.  He says," I can walk in these because they have feet. I am so excited!"  Aunt Malou sent Mickey Mouse pjs (which he insisted wearing 4 days in a row...thank goodness Mimi did so much laundry!) and Toy Story books.  C got to make Halloween projects and decorate our dining room table with the "nice witch".  E was also a good little girl.  Until I came home, that is.  That Monday, I took E to her 9 month appointment and she was great.  19 lbs, 14 oz.  But when I put her down on the examining table, she screamed. She cried so hard that she formed two little tear puddles on the paper.  As soon as I picked her up, she stopped.  The next two days, she was the same at daycare.  Her teachers thought something must surely be wrong with her...she didn't want to eat, she cried and screamed and was inconsolable.  Until I can to pick her up and immediately, she would calm down and be quiet.  And even smile.  She was so fussy, even sometimes with Da Da, that I did take her to the doctor's two days after her well appointment.  And all the doctors could say was, "she's fine."

Fine, but having quite a hard time separately from Ma Ma right now!

Fun at Home

Whether its having a catch, going for a walk, raking leaves and jumping in piles, having a picnic under the tree, or going for a bike ride, we love having fun at home.  This morning, C said "Da Da. You go get your bike and C will get my bike and we can go for a ride.  Doesn't that sounds like fun?"  How could Matt say no to that?

Truck Days

What is it about boys and trucks?  In the last couple of weeks, we have gone to two touch-a-truck days, and we lucked out with having the utility workers near our house give him a ride as well!

Farm and Pumpkins

The nice thinkg about being home on Fridays is that we can go places that are normally crowded on the weekend.  On a recent Friday I took the kids to Honey Pot Hill.  We said hi to all the animals, went on a hay ride, got pumpkins for C, E, and one for Ma Ma and Da Da to share, and home apples and cider donuts.  We will go back on a weekend so we can all go picking together.  C let the cashier know that the big pumpkin "is for my mom!"

We Love E

E is such a happy little girl, it is easy to go through the day and just cuddle and not capture every moment...because they are mostly all so sweet and drama free.  But we all love her so much.  She has two litte teeth on the bottom that she like to use to chomp on puffs and mum mums and little pieces of fruit.  How quickly she went from refusing to eating baby food to wanting to eat just finger foods. She went from avoiding learning to roll over to using that as her primary sense of transportation.  She will scootch a little bit but not crawl.  Now she lunges and rolls with a purpose--trying to roll in the direction of what she wants. He first word is "Ma Ma" and boy, does she know how to use it to tug at my heart strings.  She still loves taking a bath, particularly now that her bib brother likes to help dump water on her head. She likes sitting in the Baby Bjorn and trying to push her big brother in the stroller at the grocery store. (I can't even imagine what the three of us look like!)

3rd Birthday!

C had a great "Curious George" 3rd birthday party.  He wore three different Geroge shirts, yes, quite the number of costume changes!  This is the first year where I feel like Ma Ma and Da Da got presents that he really liked...construction site legos, Toy Story/Cars puzzles, and a baseball glove.  E got him a Curious George memory game.  Mimi and Paw Paw Kenny gave C a fire truck and Ba Ba and Uncle Brendan gave him Woody and Buzz Lightyear (a "Real" Buzz, not one of hte puppets that I have made to tide him over until his birthday.
